Access / Everyone

A calmer guide
for more people.

StudentStart UK is being built toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA principles. This is a working accessibility statement, not a claim of formal certification.

Keyboard, contrast and reduced-motion checks completed 8 September 2026
01 / What is supported

Keyboard, zoom and clear structure.

Pages include a skip link, descriptive headings, visible keyboard focus, labelled controls, text alternatives for informative images and responsive layouts. Core forms and dialogs can be used from a keyboard. Text can be enlarged with browser zoom.

02 / Motion and colour

Movement respects your device setting.

Decorative animation is reduced when the browser requests reduced motion. Important meaning is not communicated by colour alone. Primary text and interactive colours have been checked against their normal light backgrounds.

03 / Known limits

External websites are outside our control.

Provider pages opened from StudentStart may have different accessibility standards. Automated checks also cannot prove that every experience works well with every assistive technology, so manual feedback remains important.

04 / Ongoing checks

Test again when content changes.

New pages, plugins, embeds, forms and colour treatments must be checked for keyboard access, focus order, text alternatives, labels, reflow and contrast before public release.

05 / Legal context

Reasonable adjustments still matter.

UK service providers have accessibility responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 and, in Northern Ireland, the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. Applicability depends on the operator and service, so this statement should be reviewed with the real business details before launch. See the GOV.UK accessibility overview ↗ and the WCAG 2.2 standard ↗.
